As a pilot scheme to tackle anti-social behaviour and vandalism in Herbert Park it is proposed to leave a number of gates open on a trial basis at the pond side of the park to allow ease of access to garda patrol cars .Gardai would endeavour to patrol the park twice per night on a trial period. On a recent visit to the park with some
constituents, I was saddened to see the evidence of such damage to seats, pathways and refuse bins. However I welcome the new tree planting and also the new seats that have been installed.
