HIGH-RISE NOT ACCEPTABLE SAYS MCCARTAN

A meeting of residents and public representatives of the South East Area took place on the 27th of May in Pearse St Library to discuss the Council’s document Maximising the City’s Potential – a strategy for Intensification and Height. Cllr McCartan stated strongly that high-rise on the scale proposed was definitely not the answer for Ballsbridge and Donnybrook and at best was merely a quick fix solution.”

High-Rise does not properly address the issue of urban sprawl and this demand for high-rise is coming from the city planners as well as developers and their friends in government” said Paddy McCartan. The residents expressed strong opposition to the strategy and there was a unanimous vote urging councillors to reject this document.”

Local residents can rest assured that I will use all my efforts and influence on Dublin City Council to ensure that Ballsbridge and Donnybrook do not fall victim to the developers and become a high-rise version of Manhattan” says Paddy McCartan. Jurys Ballsbridge.
